School of Engineering & Technology

School of Engineering and Technology established in year 2010 is a new age Education institute built on core fundamental to create and nurture a talent pool of youth that departs from the routine mode of learning. It is affiliated to Board of Technical Education, Lucknow and approved by AICTE.

History

The Trust opened its gates to students for the first time in 2005 with the beginning of B.Ed and B.Tech programmes, slowly and steadily making its footprint in the domain of professional and technical education. In the very first decade of its existence, Sitapur Shiksha Sansthan (Trust) Sitapur, also started graduate programmes in pharmacy, paramedical sciences and architecture. At the same time, engineering education in India came under duress for a variety of reasons and this impacted the Sansthan as well. This prompted us to reinvigorate our curriculum, strengthen our faculty and pedagogical tools and to develop linkages with industry. In the year 2007, we suffered an irreparable loss in the death of our founder Trustee, Ms. Rajrani. The mantle was taken up by Ms. Tanushri Mehrotra, who replaced Ms. Rajrani on the Trust. She, along with, the founder MD cum Chairman, Mr. Lalit Kishore Mehrotra, set forth the Sansthan’s roadmap for the next decade.

2010s saw the Sansthan adding more courses to existing programmes. The Sansthan made special efforts to attract students from the eastern side of Uttar Pradesh which still lagged on several development parameters. By way of establishing a polytechnic institute as School of Engineering & Technology, the Sansthan encouraged dropouts to continue with their education and acquire skills that would improve their employability. The learnings of first ten years made it clear that for education to be truly transformative, there is need to work on all levels of education. Only when foundational skills, understanding and expression are in place, can India reap its demographic dividend in the long run.
